About the Executive Director
The Executive Director is the chief administrative officer of TCOG, performing highly responsible leadership and managerial work in planning, organizing, and directing the operations of the organization.
Dr. Thomas is the Executive Director of Texoma Council of Governments (TCOG) in Sherman, TX. With approximately 45 employees and average annual revenue of $11.5 million, she leads TCOG towards its vision: Better Leaders Building Better Lives, believing that by being better leaders, by training better leaders, and by supporting better leaders, we will build better lives, which is the ultimate mission of the organization. She and her staff develop and implement dozens of economic and community development projects and programs all geared toward improving the quality of life for the people of Texoma.
Dr. Thomas has served as TCOG’s Executive Director since January 2009. Previously, she served as the Public Information and Policy Advisor to the Mayor at the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas and as the inaugural Director of the University of Arkansas Delta Research and Design Center in Clarendon, AR. Dr. Thomas received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Public Administration as well as a PhD in Public Policy, all from the University of Arkansas.
